The coming winter

by Reggie Barnes on December 13, 2010

Lately the temperature has been fluctuating between -1 to -3 °C. Last night it dropped to -7 °C. There’s a little creek that continually flows all year in my back yard that has started to freeze over. Not much snow has fallen but there’s an occasional mist of flurries hanging in the air.

Last week I chopped firewood to bring inside from an old fallen maple tree. The logs make a nice fire that burns for a few hours. When walking outside you can smell fires burning around the neighborhood. Everyone has the same idea: keep warm.

I’m still working on the album’s mix. It’s not easy but I’m learning more and more each time I turn a knob. Thank goodness for online forums with kind hearted mix engineers willing to share their trade secrets.
